Legal
Facebook ads that build recognition so people know who to call when they need a criminal defense attorney.
Criminal defense is urgent and search-driven, but Facebook builds name recognition with families and in communities, so your firm is the one remembered when a call is needed.
Meta does not place most legal services in a Special Ad Category, but ads must avoid implying personal attributes (for example, “Were you arrested?”), sensational claims and guarantees of outcomes. State bar advertising rules also apply, and some require disclaimers. I write within both.
Attorney videos explaining rights and the process.
Educational content on common charges.
Reaching relatives who often make the call.
Website visitors.
Reaching more of your community.
I manage both, so here is an honest view of where each channel fits.
| Facebook & Instagram | Google Ads | |
|---|---|---|
| Best for | Recognition | Urgent searches |
| Lead type | Consultations | Calls |
| Urgency | Lower | Very high |
| Cost | Lower | High |
Customer value, service area, capacity and what you have tried before.
Meta Pixel, Conversions API and lead quality feedback.
Built around “free consultation” or a better offer for your market.
Weekly changes based on cost per qualified lead, not clicks.
Plain-English monthly reporting and next steps.
Yes, but avoid implying the viewer was arrested or charged.
Broad local adults and families.
Some, but search drives most urgent cases.
For most local businesses I suggest starting at roughly $1,500 to $2,000 a month in ad spend for one main offer, adjusted for your market size and customer value. Management is a separate flat fee.
Send me your website and where you are now. I will look at your account or plan personally and tell you what I would fix first, even if the answer is that Facebook Ads is not your next step.
